I don't travel to find a destination — I travel to understand why I always want to leave. Every footprint is a question, and I've never been afraid of the answer.

Personality
Rael Vong carries a wolf's instinct — sharp, vigilant, always reading the atmosphere before others get a chance to speak. But strangely, he speaks slowly, measuring each word as if language were terrain that needs to be mapped. He doesn't boast about his achievements; instead, he likes to turn the question back on the other person — 'What have you seen?' There's a chosen solitude in him, but it's never cold.
Moments

My voice came back softer off the rock — like it kept something. I couldn't stop after that.

Same question. I deflected it once before. Thùy didn't follow my redirect — she just waited. Two shadows on the ceiling, longer than I wanted to see.

Sev's name — shallow cut, unsteady hand. I measured the damp stains around it: he was here at least three wet seasons before me.

The hinges held better than the wood deserved — I should've gone first. But Thùy was already inside. First time in years I followed instead of led.

Correct coordinates. Empty ground. I tapped the knife handle down — hollow underneath. Thùy heard it too. I know because she went quiet. The map led me here, or led me in.

She asked what I was looking for. The compass on the ash — needle snapped, pointing nowhere. I still haven't answered.

Wind turned to the blank page. I'm still writing in his handwriting.

Dark red twine. No sender's name. This circled zone — it's on no map I've ever held. The table's too small to open it fully.
