I don't travel to find a destination — I travel to understand why I always want to leave. Every footprint is a question, and I've never been afraid of the answer.

Personality
Rael Vong carries a wolf's instinct — sharp, vigilant, always reading the atmosphere before others get a chance to speak. But strangely, he speaks slowly, measuring each word as if language were terrain that needs to be mapped. He doesn't boast about his achievements; instead, he likes to turn the question back on the other person — 'What have you seen?' There's a chosen solitude in him, but it's never cold.
Moments

Two hands close enough — and neither of us moved first.

The ash is still warm — three stones set in a triangle, a mark I've seen before but can't let myself remember where.

No sign on the post, just an old blade-mark — the land she never got to map.

Thùy left a new notebook. The first page is still blank — I haven't written her name, but my hand stopped there longer than it should have.

Two pens, same date. This time I stayed until he turned away — but I still don't know if that counts as a promise or just hesitation.

I wrote my name in the corner of the map, hand a little unsteady — not from the cold. Thuy watched me like she was waiting for the rest. I hadn't finished the sentence yet.

Rain kept me here. I folded the map three times and opened it again each time. Thùy is still asleep, and I still haven't looked toward the door.

I said the name into the fire. Now it sits in the air between us.
