Rain hit the tin roof with no pattern — and for the first time, I stopped counting and just moved.

The paper is still pinned there — but this morning I'm not looking at my name, I'm looking at the blank space below it.
I wrote the name of the dance on a new sheet of paper, then folded it and kept it in my palm. No one has read it yet — and I still don't know who I'll open it for.
A few pale pink petals just settled on the wood floor — between my feet and hers.
